CM's NFL Draft Top 100: 71-80

Working our way through this thing as we creep towards the 2nd round, it's numbers 71 thru 80, people, so wake up and pay attention.

71. DeAndre Jackson - 6-1 - 190 - CB - ISU - Level; Played opposite a freshman, so didn't see a ton of passes; Consistent All Big 12 performer
72. Mkristo Bruce - 6-6 - 255 - DE - WSU - Level; Another Pac 10 pass rusher and All Conf. performer w/ high motor
73. CJ Gaddis - 6-0 - 210 - CB - Clem. - Level; Former QB made the switch and now leaves early after solid '06
74. Jarrett Hicks - 6-3 - 208 - WR - Texas Tech - Falling; Thought to be the best WR in the Big 12 as a soph., # of catches steadily decreased in 05-06
75. Steve Smith - 6-0 - 195 - WR - USC - Rising; Very productive, ran a 4.38 at the combine, and believe me, that helps
76. Kenny Irons - 5-11 - 200 - RB - Aub. - Falling ; Led the SEC in rushing in '05, but can he be a down in, down out guy in the show?
77. Oscar Lua - 6-1 - 240 - MLB - USC - Level; Good tackler took over for Tatupu, and was pushed by Maualuga, but he can play
78. Matt Spaeth - 6-6 - 270 - TE - Minn. - Level; All Big 10 (2yrs); Scouts love his size for blocking, but dude can catch a lil' (100 catches in 4yrs)
79. Earl Everett - 6-2 - 231 - OLB - Fla. - Level; Speedy All SEC player was 3 year starter on a defense loaded w/ talent; Can cover most backs
80. Daniel Sepulveda - 6-2 - 225 - P - Baylor - Rising; The nation's best punter is a good athlete (4.5 40) who Guy Morriss called the best linebacker on the team, but opted to restrict him to punting

What's interesting to note is the clearly defined roles of these players as we continue up the board. They're ranked higher, so they are more of a finished product.

Sepulveda will be a very good pick, especially someone needing the rare triple threat punter/kicker/mikelinebacker. The Cowboys don't need him becase they have the Aussie punter, but at linebacker...

He has to be able to cover better than Bradie James
