On socialized health care
Much has been made about a "national" (socialist) health care system where medical care is free for all. I'm all for medical care for the disadvantaged, but let's not eliminate private health care, for those who can afford it. Remember: If we go totally socialist on health care (with defined salary ceilings), a bunch of prospective doctors will opt for other professions. Which is cool, because God knows we could use more lawyers.

Here's the problem - the medical industry is an oligopoly, almost a monopoly - and they charge outrageous prices for their pills. Also, lawyers who take on just about any medical suits, no matter how ridiculous they are, are raising the prices of medical care to unbelievably high levels. These have to be controlled somehow.
The wild thing is, los, that I pay $11.00 for 30 vicodins thru a pharmacy, but when I buy them from my ex teammates, they are $3.00 a pop.
