That's right, it means the Texas Rangers are out of the pennant race. Of course, they were barely in it, but when the Cowboys team charter to California took off, the Rangers promptly gave up a 4 run lead in the 8th inning to the ChiSox, losing in glorious fashion, for their 2nd straight series loss.
